PCSTITCH FOR MAC SOFTWARE
MacStitch is made by Ursa Software and they also make the PC compatible WinStitch, both have free 'viewers' available. They also have an extremely good customer service department that I have called upon several times. I have been using MacStitch for about 3 years and, after one finally gives up their memories of PC stitch, find it a very user friendly and versatile program, well worth the not over large investment. MacStitch has all the program options of PC Stitch plus several extra goodies most notably advantageous to you, the ability to convert 6 or 7 other design software files into MacStitch without having to rework them much or at all.
MacStitch (in the above comments) is the ONLY Mac based design program for cross stitch, the most recent version requires OSX (which is not on very old Macs). Mac users can easily run (free) PC Stitch Pattern Viewer on any Mac, but of course that does not give us the option to doodle with the design so the design could just as easily come in.
Depending on which Mac they have, it could require new software and/or new hardware which would make it not so feasible just for one cross stitch design. I don't think most mac users will have the "ability" to get their Macs to run PC based software. I am a die hard Mac user since the very first one hit the market (even though I have a PC in my home as well).
